What started as small acts of faith has become a movement of people discovering new life in Jesus.
It Started with Faith
In the year 2000, Liberty Baptist Church began meeting inside a local daycare. There were no grand facilities or impressive resources—just a group of people committed to following Jesus and believing He would build His Church.

Through years of faithful obedience and God's provision, Liberty purchased eight acres of land and built its first permanent home.
As God continued to move, the church embraced a renewed vision and, in 2022, became known as The Peak Church.
NEW BEGINNINGS
While God was continuing His work at The Peak Church, He was also writing another story.

The Lord had been moving on Pastor Tim and his wife Cindy Hale's hearts to take a leap of faith and start a church in Midlothian. In January 2023, Renovation Church held its very first worship service. They rented another church's building on Saturday nights and owned almost nothing—not a single chair, microphone, or piece of equipment.

What we lacked in resources, God made up for through His people. Another church generously opened its doors, reminding us that the Kingdom is bigger than any one congregation.
better together
One of the most defining moments in our story came when Pastor Bennie Leonard reached out to Pastor Tim Hale of Renovation Church with an unexpected invitation.
​
Rather than continue building separately, he believed God was calling both churches to become Better Together. For months, leaders and members from both churches committed themselves to prayer, fasting, and seeking God's direction.
​
In August 2023, both congregations overwhelmingly voted YES to merge. The two churches united under the name Renovation Church, with Tim Hale serving as Senior Pastor while Bennie Leonard transitioned into the role of Care Pastor. We became one church family with one mission: helping people find new life in Jesus.

Today, that decision continues to impact countless lives.

Where We Are Today
What began with a handful of faithful people has become a growing church family filled with stories of transformation.

Since merging, our church has tripled in size. Our various ministries are thriving. New staff members have joined the mission, expanding our ability to care for people and reach our community.
​
In 2026 alone, we've celebrated 105 baptisms—105 public declarations that Jesus is still changing lives.
​
The greatest miracle isn't a new building or a growing church.
It's seeing people walk through our doors carrying brokenness, addiction, anxiety, shame, or hopelessness—and watching Jesus turn the broken to beautiful.
​
And we believe He's just getting started.
